Medical

First aid

We have fully qualified members of staff who can administer first aid to children across the College, with a senior member of staff overseeing the first aid care given to our students. Parents will be contacted if emergency first aid care is given at the earliest opportunity and advised on the next appropriate step of action.

Medicines

If your child requires any form of medication, they are not allowed to keep it with them during the day.

Students should bring the medication, clearly labelled, straight to Kerry Brown at the beginning of the day, with written consent from their parent/guardian. Prescribed medicines must be in their original container as dispensed by the pharmacist. A copy of the ‘Authority to Administer Medicines Form’ can be found on the link below. This form can also be obtained from Reception.

If your child suffers from asthma, please provide a spare pump which can be handed into reception and will be safely stored in case of an emergency.

If you have any questions about any aspect of medical care at the College please contact.

Reporting Absence

Parents/guardians are asked to report student absence to the College before 8.30am on each day of absence.  Medical evidence must be provided for consecutive absence of 5 days or more. If this is not provided, the absence will be unauthorised.

The College may contact you if we do not know why your child is absent. If any student is away without explanation, we communicate with parents in order to check on possible truancy. It is important that we maintain our excellent attendance record, which is only possible with your co-operation.
