Developing Blended Learning workshop

On Monday and Tuesday this week, our Y10s had their main session of our Developing Blended Learning Programme. Working with the Science curriculum, the students were guided through the process of creating revision cue cards - one of the two main techniques we promote across the College. Mr Russell and Mr Brunink discussed how the students should select the topic to revise and find the relevant knowledge, using the resources available on itslearning, BBC bitesize, revision guides and exercise books. They then went on to explain the stages of creating accurate cue cards and how they can be used for future retrieval practice.

The students were given time to put this guidance into practice with the Science curriculum, and then a subject and topic area of their choice.  The session was rounded off by getting the students to consider what sets of cue cards they can create now, rather than leaving revision to this time in year 11.
