Dance workshop at HSDC

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.

On 18th December we took 22 Year 9 and 10 students to the 'Tinsel and Twilight' Dance performance at HSDC  and then we were treated to a free workshop led by the students performing in the show.

Two of our workshop leaders were ex-students Amy Norton and Lilly Duquemin, who specifically requested to teach us. It was lovely to see how much their confidence had grown, and they really inspired our students, particularly when they chatted at the end and explained their individual experiences. The workshop itself was fast-paced and full of technical elements that challenged the students with various travelling phrases from the corner. The students were then taught some repertoire from 'The Greatest Showman' dance they watched in the show and performed this back. Some students challenged themselves further by performing in smaller groups and the student teachers were very impressed with their confidence.

The students walked back to Crookhorn truly inspired with lots of chatter about where they would like to study dance in the future.
