At Crookhorn College, we believe every student has a critical voice.

College Council

Our College Council is a platform where students can actively participate in decision-making and drive positive change at Crookhorn College. Representatives from each Year group and Tutor group are invited to join the council, giving them the opportunity to bring forward ideas, discuss concerns, and vote on initiatives that impact College life. This experience empowers students to advocate for their peers and contribute meaningfully to the college community, fostering a culture of responsibility, collaboration, and positive transformation.

Rewards

Can we have different Reward Milestones for Year groups?

Year 7 and 8 have different reward milestones compared to Year 9, 10 and 11.

Rewards qualification criteria

Can we increase who qualifies for End of Term rewards?

Commendation and House Point milestones remain.

  • 100% Attendance per term.
  • Top 25 effort for latest report.

Promoting Equality

We need to do more to celebrate our differences.

Raised at College Council students voted on the objective to use following discussions with staff and students. Objective added to College Equality Policy:Promote positive attitudes to difference and good relationships between students of different backgrounds, genders, cultures, faiths, abilities and ethnic origins.

Go Greener

We need more bins.

Task force has been set up – more bins provided for the field as you enter and leave. Recycling bins set up under concourse.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

Can we have more Extra-Curricular clubs?

Introduced Sports Council representatives. Increase in clubs and students’ choice of clubs.

Fundraising

From our most recent Fundraising Days, the money raised by students through Non-uniform and House events have been used to purchase the following items, chosen by our students:

  • Year 10 and 11 flash cards. All students were given a pack to use throughout the year during tutor time.
  • Wireless Microphones (Performing Arts).
  • Staging area for performance in CA6.
  • Additional bins for the field to allow students to eat on the field.
  • Additional benches for unstructured time.
  • House Gardens.
